about e

I am Eva Natasa, I am an industrial and strategic designer and food is my passion. It started since I was small and it started with an obsession about cake. I was 10 and I just really really had to bake a perfect cake…I never did :) Plus many people found me annoying because I ask so many questions about food. But my real exploration about food started when I studied my BA in England, suddenly all foreign ingredients I was looking for was around me, and for the first time, I could use a proper oven (it was in my student dorm!), It was fun year :) But when I moved to Milan to do my master, Whoa! I found myself in food heaven. Italy was…heaven! Everybody talks about food, everywhere, people even argue who could make the best food! (most of the answers were: mia mamma! - my mom!) Super! It was four years of sense explosion! Food, art, design…love :)
In 2009, we decided that we wanted a change, when we were exploring some other countries, my family invited us back home to Indonesia for our celebration, we left Milan with 2 suitcases, thinking we’ll stay for a month, but my talented and artistic hubby fell in love with Bali and we never returned to Europe (well, occasionally for visiting family and works). Now I find myself here, living in Ubud, surrounded by beautiful green and nature, trying to reinvent, revisit my own food after all these years abroad. I must say, it really gives me a different perspective.
I think I need to tell you about my kitchen, in general I am a practical person, I like to use what is available around me, I don’t own many kitchen gadgets and I’ve never had a mixer, when I was small, I used my grandma’s, then since I always move around, I never had one. I’ll let you know when I decide to buy one :) So, most of my baking recipes until now are made by simple stirring the ingredients in a bowl with a spoon or fork.
That’s all for now, if you want to ask me questions or just drop a line, please don’t be shy to email me at: hello@enatasa.com
Hugs!

Yes I second everything she says above. I share her passion of cooking and my most precious memories of University time with Eva are the times we cooked together and shared the lovely food. She is a beautiful person and a great cook!

Thank you all for the lovely comments :)
Maria, I use my good old Canon 40D with Canon 50mm f1.4 and 60mm macro f2.8 lenses. I am lucky because my kitchen has two big big windows and I mostly take photos with natural light and adjust them according to my mood in Photoshop. I hope this helps :)
