No recipe? No…just some random shots of my life lately. It has been good (even there were moments I want to scream when it rained outside-IN! Yeah, our roof needed fixing, but it is ok now :) oh, plus a neighbour who play cheesy music all day, but that is ok too :)

I have a moody sky here, it is amazing how many times he changes in a day (I always feel sky is…a boy hehe) I might even called him BOY! Ha! Now I have a sky named Boy! and  So, what I cook is all depend on Boy, if Boy is happy, then sunny, then salad and light sides it is, if Boy is sad and crying alot, then a hearty risotto it is…you know what I mean. All I have in my kitchen is a bunch of good ingredients and no plan. It is how my life is now, and you can take a tiny peek of it through my lens :)

No, that’s not my foot, that’s marco’s, mine is much smaller :)

And yes, that is moody Boy, from my bedroom’s terrace

Butter+pan fried+salmon+black sesame seeds = quickie delicioooouuuuuusssssss :)

Silk smooth chocolate pudding with cream and fresh strawberry or coffee of top? Oh, can I have both please? :P

And say hello to some cute micro creatures around us :)

This is marco’s favourite! Tiny butterfly with white and purple wings!

This tree just had a haircut, but I still like him :)

And moody Boy is suddenly feeling happy, giving us some sun :)

And that is all for today…oh, are you leaving? So soon? Then please don’t forget to close the door…yes, it is pretty but no, my door is not a magic door that could bring you anywhere like doraemon’s…but, may be, if you really REALLY make wish and taping the heels of your red shoes three times…may be… :) xx

one.easy.pork.meatballs.recipe

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

It has been so long, may be too long that I have not written here. I have been busy with two strategic project in a row, then always living in transit without internet connection, trying to find a place here in Bali (we plan to live here for about one or two years) it has not been an easy thing. We might have found a place now…still not confirmed…but we’ll see.

Although we are always in ‘transit’ me and marco always try to keep our habit of eating good and simple food. Yes, we have been eating out alot, which we don’t usually do but food in Bali is good and fresh, it is abit too spicy for my taste but I will get used to it :) Anyway, back to our eating habit, we usually eat simple pasta for lunch and small portion of meat (for marco) or fish and vegetable at night, or we eat big and complete salad for lunch and simple and light pasta for the night.

This might be very simple, but I just want to share it with you.

I cooked this yesterday, just because when I was at papaya with my cousin M and I saw a good and fresh looking ground pork so I got 250 gram,  mixed it with one egg and two handfuls of panko (the Japanese breadcrumbs) seasoned it simply with one garlic, freshly chopped parsley and sea salt and pepper and tiny tiny bit of dried chili, mix everything well, shaped it into 12 ping-pong size balls, then fried them with a knob of butter on medium heat for 10 minutes until brown on all sides. Marco said they were good and very light (I guess the panko gives the lightness. I did not do it on purpose, I was about to do the classic milk+bread mixture when I realised I did not have both and only had panko :P). He had them warm and cold for the day after, and both delicious! (If you don’t eat pork, you can replace it with beef)

I served them with a small portion of simple salad (lemon cucumber, romana lettuce, tomato and capers, dressed with sea salt and extra virgin olive oil). I don’t eat meat, so I had the salad with boiled kampung eggs (I have told you kampung eggs in Indonesia taste greatttttt, right?)

We finished quite everything :) then a cup of coffee from the cute little moka that Mrs. F gave us as Christmast present. Life is just simply beautiful. Buona giornata tutti! xx

risotto.alla.zucca

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

I know there is no autumn in Indonesia, but it is my favourite season and it is coming and I am missing it…so I made this risotto that reminded me of autumn colours. Luckily I could find pumpkin here and also found the red cabbage. Love the colour combination of orange risotto and red-purplish cabbage stew and dark green-brownish colour of the sage. Of course there is not arborio rice here, I used white organic rice and good homemade vegetable stock and I must say I am quite satisfied with the result. (more…)

(my kind of) tortilla de patatas

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

Few days ago, I really miss my very good friend, L, and I also really miss her food, especially her tortilla :) We used to live in a cute attic apartment in Milan with two other people, with a tiny terrace where you can see Milan and the Alps. I miss our daily late breakfast (the sleepily walking in the kitchen kind of thing and the occasional coffee burning :) and saturday easy lunch and of course, her wonderful tortilla de patatas.

(a bit special) raw beetroot salad :)

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

I had this nice RAW beetroots (rarely see them) in the organic shop the other day and today just improvising with them, but the result is surprisingly good that I want to share it. I was just like: right, here is beetroot, what else do I have? :) I had nice pear and green apple and feta and a bunch of wild finocchietto (I don’t know the name in English, but if you can’t find it, just use the herby tops of the fennel) then I opened the cupboard and felt like throwing some sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds and found some unshelled walnuts in the table and asked Marco to crack it when I was busy chopping everything. Mixing and crumbling with hands. Beautiful!

first.day.of.spring

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

I have not been posting for a long time, have been too busy with my design project…Marco took this when we went to the park on the first day of spring, we played football and just laid on the grass, taking a short break from the project.

It was love.ly!

There was a play ground too in the park, we did not play, but it was fun to see people enjoying spring.

Will post more about later, the project is supposed to finish this friday…really can’t wait to go back to my quiet life :)

one chocolate+orange cookies morning story

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Last sunday, we fell asleep in front of the fireplace in the room with big windows, and woke up with the ’sunlight shower’ and it just put me in a instant super good mood, just like wall-e when taking his morning sun recharge :) So before anything else, I took a walk around the garden and taking my dose of morning sun, that did not last so long since everything looked so nice that I just really have to start ‘macro-ing’, that did not last so long either since everybody started to wake up and having this we-are-so-hungry face. There were lots of oranges and some left over of dark chocolate, so I decided to make chocolate+orange peel cookies :)

It was a very beautiful day!

Weekend at Cassani’s house with friends: erica, lorenso, brein, and marco. We arrived and just heading straight to the garden, eating simple ravioli with butter and sage that grows near the kitchen, enjoying lots of sun. On a day like this, everything seems beautiful! I look up, down, left, right and it was simply so beautiful!
